Milwaukee, WI – The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Wisconsin State Conference President Dean A. Warsh released the following statement in response to Governor Evers’ Budget Address:

“Governor Evers continues to put Wisconsin workers and families first in his 2023-2025 biennial budget proposal,” said IBEW Wisconsin State Conference President, Dean A. Warsh. “His initiatives on education, childcare, paid family medical leave, worker training, economic development, mental health, and local government finance will help lead Wisconsin to a better tomorrow. We are also excited about the proposal to support the Milwaukee Brewers and American Family Field that will be a win-win for all of Wisconsin in the long run.”

“We especially would like to thank Governor Evers for, again this budget cycle, proposing the reestablishment of prevailing wage laws in Wisconsin, repeal of the so-called “Right to Work” law, and elimination of the prohibition on Project Labor Agreements put into place by the previous administration. The Governor’s proposals will protect Wisconsin workers and taxpayer funds from unscrupulous out-of-state contractors and help ensure the sustainability of Wisconsin’s proud construction industry for years to come,” concluded President Warsh.
