Mar. 8, 2023 – Whitefish Bay, WI – The Chicago & Midwest Regional Joint Board, Workers United, has endorsed Jodi Habush Sinykin for State Senate District 8. CMRJB Workers United represents employees at Monterey Mills, the textile manufacturing company owned by Jodi Habush Sinykin and her husband, Dan.

“Our Union has had the opportunity to work closely with Jodi and her family at Monterey Mills, and we have been consistently impressed by her ability to listen to and incorporate diverse perspectives into her and her family’s decisions-making process,” said Kathy Hanshew, President of the Chicago and Midwest Regional Joint Board. “Jodi has a keen understanding of the issues facing our working-class communities and has developed practical solutions that are both innovative and effective.”

Jodi and her husband purchased Monterey Mills in 2005, and have refused to ship a single job out of the state or country over the 28 years they have owned the factory.

“I am honored to receive the endorsement of the Chicago and Midwest Regional Joint Board, Workers United, which does such critical advocacy for our hardworking employees at Monterey Mills,” said Habush Sinykin. “Dan and I take great pride in caring for our employees and their families, and we have always felt strongly about creating a safe and supportive work environment. As the 8th District’s next State Senator, I will fight for the protection and respect that all Wisconsin workers deserve.”
