MADISON, Wisc. – Representative John Macco (R-Ledgeview) released the following statement regarding legislation relating to vaccine laws in Wisconsin which were introduced today by Representative Subeck and Senator Roys:

“This legislation, specifically LRB 3881/1, which allows vaccination of minors without parental consent and LRB 3882/1, which eliminates the personal conviction exemption from immunizations, oversteps the responsibility of government,” said Rep. Macco.

“Government should not be restricting parents’ ability and right to make decisions for their children, and we should uphold the capacity for them to make decisions for their children who are still minors. I stand on the side of the parents- these are your kids, not the governments.”

“While a part of our job as your representative is to create good legislation to help Wisconsinites, the other side of the coin is to stop bad legislation from being passed. Be assured, these two bills will not be passed through the legislature.”
