(Waukesha, WI)- The 2023 Sustainability Fair will take place on Saturday, August 26th, from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm at Retzer Nature Center in Waukesha. The Fair is Free to attend and includes interactive exhibits and activities for children and adults that celebrate environmental sustainability and show how it can be approachable, cost effective, and fun!
The theme of this year’s Fair: “Empowered community. Brighter future.”, features a wide variety of exhibits and activities on renewable energy and efficiency, revitalizing our urban forest, community tree planting, zero-waste and the activities of a variety of environmental community groups. A Wild Wisconsin Walk features information and activities on native planting, attracting and keeping pollinators, installing rain gardens, and more. Our activity schedule can be found on our website.
Back at the Fair this year is our Electric Vehicle Car Show where fairgoers can ask EV owners questions about their vehicles. As new exhibits this year, fairgoers can learn about solar energy by talking with residents who have recently installed solar, attend the planetarium show “A Place Like No Other” free of charge, and businesses can attend a “Sustainability in Business” open discussion and networking at 12 PM. With over 60 exhibitors, there is something for everyone at the Sustainability Fair!
The fair will feature a variety of local food vendors and trucks, including Shorty’s Grilled Cheese, Mama D’s, Twisted Plants, and Beergo. The 2023 Sustainability Fair is a Zero-Waste event, thus fairgoers are encouraged to bring their own water bottle, refill stations will be available throughout the area.
