MILWAUKEE – January 19, 2023 – Candidate for the citywide MPS School Board seat, Missy Zombor, announced today that she had received the endorsement of the Milwaukee Teachers’ Education Association (MTEA) representing 5,300 education workers in Milwaukee Public Schools.

“For years I’ve stood alongside the members of the MTEA in their fight for better teaching and learning conditions and more equitable schools,” said Missy Zombor. “Milwaukee Public School families and educators can trust that I will continue to unapologetically defend our public schools, students, and education workers.”

“The Milwaukee Teachers’ Education Association is a democratic union that encourages every member to participate and vote in the endorsement process,” said Missy Zombor. “To have such overwhelming support from the largest educators’ local in the state of Wisconsin is an honor.”

In addition to Zombor’s endorsement, the Milwaukee Teachers’ Education Association endorsed school board candidates Marva Herndon for District 1, Erika Siemsen for District 2, Gabi Hart for District 3, and Megan O’Halloran for District 8.

Missy Zombor is a Milwaukee Public Schools parent and marketing director for the Milwaukee-based education publisher Rethinking Schools, specializing in critical perspectives on social justice curriculum and education.
