WisPolitics is conducting a straw poll at this weekend’s GOP state convention, asking Republican activists their preference for a candidate in the 2026 guv race and 2028 presidential primary.
WisPolitics has frequently conducted straw polls at both state Republican and Democratic conventions over the years. The state Dem Party, though, declined to rent a table to the news outlet to conduct a straw poll at its June convention. The party declined to comment on the decision, though it has barred the outlet from conducting straw polls in past years as well, citing a DNC policy prohibiting them in the presidential race.
