A Message from a Neighbor, a Mother, and a Community Advocate
This Fourth of July, as fireworks light up the sky and families gather to celebrate the birth of our great nation, I find myself reflecting on the true meaning of the American Dream, because I’ve lived it.
My journey began when I earned my Master’s degree in Psychology from UW–Madison on a student visa, carrying nothing but big dreams and a deep determination to build a better future. Leaving my life behind in India and choosing to stay, put down roots, and file for citizenship was not an easy decision, but a purposeful and meaningful one.

Independence Day is more than a holiday to me. It represents the freedom, opportunity, and welcome that this country extended to me. From an international student to a proud citizen of the United States, every step of this journey has shaped who I am today.
Some ask why I should run for office if I wasn’t born and raised here. The answer is simple: I chose America. On this day that celebrates liberty and belonging, I’m running to give back to the community that welcomed and supported me when I first arrived. This is my home, and I am ready to serve it.
Why I’m Running for Wisconsin State Assembly District 80: Independence for Every Family.
For Parents
– As a proud mother, I am standing up for parental rights and a stronger, better education system for our children.
For Our Community
– With 15 years of experience in Mental Health (MH) and Substance Use Disorder (SUD) services, I understand the real needs of our neighbors.
– I advocate for evidence-based programs like Individual Placement and Support (IPS) that help individuals find purpose and a path forward.
For Homeowners
– Like many of you, I’ve struggled with rising property taxes.
– I am standing up for hard working families who have earned their homes and deserve relief.
This Is Your Fight Too
The Fourth of July reminds us that America’s strength comes from its people standing together. If you are a parent, a homeowner, or an immigrant, you know the stress that can come with these challenges. You are not alone. Let’s honor the spirit of independence by advocating for our rights and our future together.
