ROTHSCHILD — Former Gov. Tommy Thompson slammed Dems as “lost” in a fiery speech to Republican activists while proclaiming the GOP as the party of the working class.
Thompson, the longest serving guv in Wisconsin history, sought to contrast the two parties, saying Dems have been taken over by billionaires, while Republicans are the party of those in unions, teachers and small business owners.
“We’re not the party of the rich, we’re the party of the little guy and the little women,” Thompson said.
The former guv, who resigned midway through his fourth term to join George W. Bush’s administration, ripped Dems for their position on transgenders students playing in girls sports. He said his six granddaughters are athletes, including one that will play soccer in college and another who plays basketball.

He questioned, “why should we allow young boys that aren’t good enough to make it with the boys be able to go in girls locker rooms.”
“I believe every mother in here wants to be called a mother, and not an inseminated person,” Thompson said. “If you want to be called an inseminated person, you’re in the wrong crowd. We don’t want you. We want individuals who want to be mothers, and then we love you, and we stand up for you.”
