Burned out from the holidays? Weren’t allowed to talk politics with your family? Do you have a woke uncle? Is your sister afflicted with TDS? Have the in-laws outlawed Trump talk?

Well, now you can escape to a friendly environment at Republican Party of Dane County (RPDC) Pints & Politics! The RPDC is re-energizing a longtime tradition on Wednesday evening, January 7 at the Dorf Haus German Supper Club in Roxbury, up in northwest Dane County. What is Pints & Politics? Well, here are the Dazzling Dozen – 12 Benefits of Pints & Politics!

1. A place to go when a new member joins the RPDC

If you are new and want to get involved, Pints & Politics is the place to meet new people.

2. Provide a large crowd for candidate speeches

If you are a conservative leaning candidate, many people will hear your speech.

3. A place to invite a new member prospect

If you know someone that wants to get involved, you have a place to refer them to.

4. A good place to practice speaking in front of a friendly audience for a new candidate

If you are a new candidate, the audience will appreciate what you say and give you feedback.

5. Networking

Many political group leaders attend Pints & Politics.

6. Distributing yard signs and informational literature

People at Pints & Politics will take your yard signs and put them up.

7. Pints & Politics is fun!

Everyone is in a great mood at Pints & Politics!

8. Sometimes candidates receive campaign donations

The people at P & P want to help the candidates.

9. Sometimes the news media is present

If you don’t want it on the front page of WisPolitics, don’t say it at Pints & Politics!

10. Informative speakers educate the attendees

You can learn about how the government really works from many different perspectives.

11. You might win a door prize

The January 7 event has autographed books by Tommy Thompson, Scott Walker, Ben Carson, and Tucker Carlson.

12. You might find a free book or movie that you would enjoy.

Lots of people donate their old books and movies for redistribution. Many of the books are by or about President Trump, Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin, Bill O’Reilly, World War II, Civil War, Founding Fathers, and/or the Roman Empire.

The January 7 Pints & Politics will feature short speeches by candidates Judge Maria Lazar, Josh Schoemann, Eric Toney, plus Lieutenant Governor candidates, Dane County Board candidates, Assembly candidates, RNC Committee Woman Pam Travis, State GOP Chair Brian Schimming, new RPDC Chair Mike Herl, and WISN radio host Perfecto Rivera. Social hours go from 5-6pm and 7-8pm, with speeches from 6-7pm.

To honor Supreme Court candidate Maria Lazar, I have composed a short poem:

Lazar For Justice

Lazar for justice
Throughout all the land
Balanced demeanor
The people demand

Vote Judge Maria
Constitution’s grand
Post up your yard-signs
Lend Lazar a hand

We’ll fight for Lazar
Her principles and
Now is the right time
Let’s strike up the band

The RPDC also plans future Pints & Politics on:

February 3 in Middleton

February 17 (election night) in Madison

March 3 in Sun Prairie

April 7 (election night) in Madison

May 5 in Pine Bluff.

Most of these are the first Tuesday of the month, although the first one on January 7 is on a Wednesday.

Here is what State GOP Chair Brian Schimming said a few years ago:

“The best Pints & Politics events in this state by far are in Dane County, by the Dane County party”
