Assembly signs off on bill to help individuals replace lead pipes

The Assembly approved allowing municipalities to provide assistance to those replacing private lead service lines, but covering less of the costs than the Senate had approved. Under the bill, which passed on a voice vote, a municipality would have to approve a resolution asking the Public Service Commission for permission to use ratepayer dollars to help replace private lead service lines. The assistance could not exceed 50 percent of the project cost. The Senate bill sought to allow reimbursement up to two-thirds of the costs. Madison, WI – As Veterans day approaches, bi-partisan legislation to help Wisconsin veterans transition into farming has cleared its last legislative hurdle. The bi-partisan Wisconsin Veterans Farm Bill of 2017, authored by Sen. Patrick Testin (R-Stevens Point) and Rep. Evan Goyke (D-Milwaukee), and co-authored by Rep. Ed Brooks (R-Reedsburg) and Sen.
