Dem Rebecca Cooke says in the first TV ad of her bid for the 3rd CD that she will be a “champion for small business owners, farmers and union workers.” The 30-second ad is part of a six-figure buy. The Cooke campaign told WisPolitics.com the ad will run in the La Crosse, Eau Claire and Wausau-Rhinelander markets. WHEDA: Awarded $7.5 million from Capital Magnet Fund

MADISON, Wis. – The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Community Development Financial Institutions Fund has awarded the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority a Capital Magnet Fund grant of $7.5 million. For the fiscal year 2021, the U.S. Treasury awarded a total of $336.4 million in grants nationwide to 59 organizations for the development of affordable housing and community facilities in low-income communities. WHEDA has now received five awards totaling more than $25.3 million since 2016. Nationwide, a total of 146 organizations requested more than $991.8 million from the Capital Magnet Fund for the FY 2021 round, highlighting the program’s competitive nature.
